Ms. Moon's Homepage

My name is Leslie Moon and I will be your Second Grade Teacher this year! This will be my first year teaching at Mt. Creek. However, I previously taught First Grade for two years at a private school in Waxahachie until I made the transition to public school education. During the summer, I also run a 6 Week-STEM Camp for kids K-6th Grade. Teaching is my passion and I absolutely adore kids! I firmly believe that every student will transform our world for the better!
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, I pride myself in being 100% Texan. I graduated from Waxahachie High School in 2008. Following high school, I was blessed with the opportunity to attend Southwestern Assemblies of God University where I graduated with an Associates in Bible and Theology, a Bachelors in Education, and a Minor in Religion and Philosophy. After college I taught First Grade for two years at a private school in Waxahachie while also starting my master's degree. This December, I will graduate with my Masters in Bible and Theology in which I hope to continue my PhD. work at Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa, Oklahoma via their online program.
My favorite color is purple. I have a dog named, Millie Grey Moon, of whom is my whole heart (picture included so that you can see how adorable she is!).
My hobbies include traveling to Disney Parks, reading, photography, and spending time with my loved ones. My professional interests include STEM/Project-Based Learning, Whole-Brain Learning, and TBRI Methods and Strategies.

My goals are to educate and equip my students so that they may have a positive impact on their community while showcasing their talents through leadership positions. I strive to make a difference in not only the world of education, but to also leave a lasting impact on those that I come into contact with on a day-to-day basis.
